Why did you choose the Science and Industry Museum for your event?
It was quirky and different. It felt very cool and unique and exactly the right setting for our conference. This iconic Manchester brand wanted an iconic Manchester setting—the 1830 Warehouse was perfect.
Please describe the brief of the event, when did it take place? Who was the event for? How many people? What were the core goals and objectives?
The event was a commercial conference to kick start 2020 and celebrate a great 2019. We wanted to engage and inspire delegates and give them an event that felt different, fun and immersive. I can’t reveal the client but it is an iconic British brand so quality and guest experience was incredibly important to them.
Were there any added extras you were able to include as part of the event due to holding it at the Science and Industry Museum?
The catering area was set up in an Altrincham Market-style, which worked brilliantly and really complemented the room. I love a bit of festoon lighting and this really looked great on the day.
Did you opt for any bespoke catering or AV during the event?
We brought in our own AV and lighting as that is what we specialise in. Each space was lit differently and looked exciting and engaging as soon as guests walked in.
We worked with the venue on a bespoke menu that was amazing—the feedback on the food was brilliant. Fresh, healthy and very tasty! We used some of the client’s products to create an interactive build-your-own cheesecake station…. All I can say is wow!!!!
How did the setting of the Science and Industry Museum contribute to the overall feel and purpose of the event?
We wanted something that felt different and special, as well as feeling very, very Manchester. It ticked all the boxes. Using lighting we were able to make each space look and feel completely different. With 5 breakout areas and a main session this was really important to keep delegates feeling engaged and enthused all day.
What feedback did you receive from the guests?
Excellent feedback on everything—the venue itself, the food, the service and the whole experience!
Additional comments
It is definitely an event space we can recommend, and I would urge anyone in Manchester looking for a different space to take a look—it will blow you away. And of course, it goes without saying, if you are looking for an agency to help you pull it all together and make best use of the space then you have to think Clear!
