About us

The Science and Industry Museum tells the story of where science met industry and the modern world began. It’s a story that we’re uniquely placed to tell—on the site of the oldest surviving passenger railway station, in the heart of the world’s first industrial city, today alive with innovative discoveries in science and technology.

A truly inspirational venue, the historic buildings, fascinating galleries and purpose-built Conference Centre at the Science and Industry Museum provide a unique backdrop for corporate meetings and events. In a superb city centre location with nearby parking and good road and rail links, the Science and Industry Museum is also easily reachable from Manchester Airport.

Our purpose-built Conference Centre is located on the second floor of a Grade II listed building in the New Warehouse. The Centre incorporates a variety of spaces, which are ideal for conferences, lectures and corporate training sessions for 1 to 300 guests.

Our fascinating galleries are available to hire for evening events, taking place among some of the world’s oldest exhibits from the field of science and engineering, including a replica of the world’s first stored-program computer. Our venue hire team will take care of every detail, from choosing your unique space, to catering and entertainment.

The Science and Industry Museum is part of the Science Museum Group. The Science Museum Group is the world’s leading group of science museums, welcoming over 5 million visitors each year.

We share the stories of innovations and people that shaped our world and are transforming our futures, constantly reinterpreting our astonishingly diverse collection of 7.3 million items spanning science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.
